Our Online Sale is live at shastacnpsshop.square.site
Please note, the order of plants in the catalog is adjustable in a drop down menu. The default setting is by “popularity” that truly creates a jumble based on other CNPS plant sale locations up and down the state. You can select “A to Z”, “price”, etc. as you wish.
Please forgive the 11 day delay since our in-person sale weekend. We recently had to update our website, and we wanted to make sure it’s clean-and-tidy and working perfectly. On the bright side, it is still October, and we are 11 days closer to the first soaking rains! Between now and then, new plantings will need hand-watering during the 3 week initial establishment time after transplanting, and less often after that. Cooler days will decrease water needs. When winter rains finally do arrive, your newly introduced plants will be in the best of all possible hands of the season itself.
Since the Sale, all the Salvias (sages) and California lilacs (Ceanothus species including buckbrush), and Manzanita species (Arctostaphylos) have been pushing growth. This is truly their time of year, and that means they would take beautifully in your yard this month and next. But, truly the sooner the better, because the soil temperature is still relatively warm now, and that will promote good growth of roots.
Pick up days and hours are as follows:
• Orders placed from Thursday 12 PM to Sunday 12 PM will be filled and placed on the delivery table in front of the Horticulture office building #4500 by 1 PM on Sundays.
• Orders placed between noon on Sundays to noon on Thursdays will be filled and placed on the delivery table at building #4500 by 1 PM on Thursdays.
• We highly recommend that you come pick up your order as soon as possible, especially if your order includes a shade-loving plant.
Happy Planting! The butterflies, hummingbirds, and native bees will love you for it!
