Dear Members,
As we negotiate a cautious reopening of our society, our wonderful members, as always, are supporting our chapter and carrying out our mission in many ways.

Shasta College is gradually allowing more visitors, and our horticulture volunteers are gearing up for summer. Individuals have been checking the nursery plants and spot watering if needed. (Want to help? See article, Nursery Help Needed!) Thanks to Shasta College faculty and staff for housing our nursery and watching over all the plants. Other members are maintaining the public Matson Mowder Howe Celebration Garden and are doing a lovely job of working with the City of Redding, which is supplying materials such as bark and gravel.

Plans are afoot for a fun and safe Fall 2021 Native Plant Sale. The format this year will allow for shopping online or in person. Stay tuned for times and dates in early fall.

Our hiking members are exploring the mountains, finding fascinating flowers (and even fungi), and reminding me of our wonderful world. Get out and enjoy! ~Susan Libonati-Barnes, President
