Nursery Happenings October 2026

We did it! And in an extraordinary heat wave too! Thank you to everyone who showed up for our Fall 2026 native plant sale!

We appreciate everyone doing their part to plant native plants for native pollinators, and for providing the financial support that goes directly to our scholarships and grants programs. We couldn’t have done it without our dedicated volunteers: Ren Redlich, Connie Hunziker, Nickey Watson, Chuck Dethero, John Artim, John Springer, Dan Fehr, Colin Lynch, Lauren Otten, Noel Otten, Shirley Martin, and Mike Koterba.

We also want to thank those who advertised our sale, including North State Public Radio at FM 88.9.

As always, our nursery space is accommodated by Shasta College and supported daily by the efforts of Leimone Waite and Jolene Stone from the Horticulture Department.

California Native Plant Society’s goals are upheld every time a native plant is sold and planted. Native pollinators are supported every day by the native plants they can find, and we sold 62 different species!

Our chapter couldn’t do this without each one of you, as well as our steadfast Nursery Manager, MaryAnn McCrary, who propagates and grows each plant in our nursery. (With as much help as she can find… Thank you Connie for your awesome support through the summer of ’26!).
