California is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. This is why September 5th – 13th is set aside by the California Natural Resource Agency as California Biodiversity Week.

To kick off the week, Western Shasta RCD is hosting a California Biodiversity Day event with local environmental partners to celebrate!

Join us on Saturday, September 5 between 10 am and 2 pm at Whistle Stop Park in downtown Redding for:

  • Crafts and activities
  • Presentations by local organizations
  • Informational booths.

Make a bird or bee house! Contribute cool observations to iNaturalist! Try your hand at becoming a pollinator! Learn how YOU can make a difference to protect the species that make our state so special.

To end the week, Shasta Environmental Alliance is hosting a Bioblitz at Nur Pon Open Space from 9am to 11am. Please visit THIS LINK for more info.
