Community Foundation of the North State has gone through the process of screening local nonprofits to determine if they are eligible to be donation recipients through the North State Giving Tuesday (NSGT) community fundraiser. And Shasta Chapter CNPS made the cut once again!
In the three years that we have participated, we have averaged $1,600 per year in donations. The first two years, we were lucky to win prizes, but last year we did it the hard way, receiving almost $1,300 in actual, direct donations. Thanks so much to everyone who gave. This is a huge boost to a little group with an annual budget of about $10,000. We are receiving 15% of our income almost every year from NSGT.
Since Giving Tuesday is in early December this year—on December 2, from 6 AM to 8 PM—this will be your main notice of this opportunity to give. Please mark your calendars! Look for at least one more communication regarding how “Power Hours” work during the event, and how you can make your charity dollars go even further.
While I have officially resigned from acting as Treasurer, I am still designated Team Captain of this NSGT effort.
