California Botanical Society

California Botanical Society (CBS) offers monthly academic botany talks through their botany speaker series, and sponsors a Graduate Student Symposium every other year. Their website is at https://calbotsoc.org/

California Invasive Plant Council

California Invasive Plant Council (Cal-IPC) offers training sessions when their budget allows. Symposia continue to be offered yearly. Visit Cal-IPC at https://www.cal-ipc.org/.

California Native Grasslands Association

The California Native Grasslands Association (CNGA) offers various events throughout the year. For details and registration information, please go to cnga.org.

California Native Plant Society

CNPS offers periodic workshops and professional training courses. Discounted registration fees are available to CNPS members. See https://www.cnps.org/education/workshops for full descriptions and registration information.

Friends of the Ahart Herbarium

Friends of the Ahart Herbarium (formerly Friends of the Chico State Herbarium) offers workshops and presentations throughout the year. Their events calendar is at http://friendsoftheahartherbarium.org/

Friends of the Jepson Herbarium

Friends of the Jepson Herbarium offers weekend workshops, most of which will be in person, and mini-workshops, all of which are virtual. All require pre-registration and fees. (Wait-listed workshops are not included in the following list.) Details can be found at ucjeps.berkeley.edu/workshops/

Horsetown-Clear Creek Preserve

Horsetown-Clear Creek Preserve (HCCP) sponsors a series of outdoor events each spring and fall. Events typically start at the HCCP parking area on Clear Creek Road, about 7 miles west of Highway 273, just west of the Clear Creek bridge, and are free. Mount Lassen Chapter CNPS

Mt. Lassen Chapter CNPS, based out of Chico, offers many fun field trips and presentations throughout the year. Their website is https://mountlassen.cnps.org/

North Coast Chapter CNPS

North Coast Chapter CNPS, headquartered in Arcata, is a busy chapter that sponsors plant sales, wildflower shows, walks, talks, field trips, and camping and backpacking adventures. They have monthly evening programs that can be found on their calendar. Their website is https://northcoastcnps.org/

Shasta Birding Society

Shasta Birding Society offers birding excursions and presentations all year long. Their website is at http://shastabirdingsociety.org/

Shasta Chapter CNPS

Shasta Environmental Alliance

Shasta Environmental Alliance (SEA) has many diverse events and activities running throughout the year. See their website at https://www.ecoshasta.org/.

Shasta Land Trust

Sierra Club | Shasta Group (Motherlode Chapter)

The Shasta Group of the Motherlode Chapter of Sierra Club is based in Redding, CA and focused on the Shasta area.

Siskiyou Field Institute

Siskiyou Field Institute (SFI), based out of Deer Creek Center in Selma, Oregon, offers many classes and field courses on a diverse set of topics throughout the year. All classes require reservations and fees. SFI’s website is at https://siskiyoufieldinstitute.org/.

The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) sponsors occasional field trips throughout the year. Contact information varies with event, and is provided with every listing.

Turtle Bay Exploration Park

Turtle Bay’s McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens Nursery offers occasional presentations, weekly walks through their botanical garden, and an annual plant sale. Turtle Bay Exploration Park website is at https://www.turtlebay.org/

US Forest Service

The US Forest Service provides presentations, field trips, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Contact information varies with sponsoring forest; details are provided for each event listed.
