Greetings!
It is always around this time of year where I am impatiently waiting for it to be light in the morning when I wake up, and light in the afternoon when I get off work. Currently, it’s that time of year when plants are blooming one species at a time instead of multiple species blooming, creating all of that color and texture.

I know spring will be here at any moment, and I’m grateful for the species that are blooming now in my yard, such as Indian-warrior (Pedicularis densiflora), but I can’t wait for that moment when I look outside and there is a field of different colored native annuals blooming. I hope you all are looking forward to spring as much as I am. ~Amy Henderson, President

P.S.: Please note that, unfortunately, we have no March Chapter meeting scheduled—a direct consequence of a dwindling volunteer base. Without more active volunteers, we will not be able to provide many of the activities and events that we have traditionally provided over the decades. Please contact us at shastacnps@gmail.com to see how you can help. Thank you!
