Join us for an all-day wildflower auto tour of Lassen Volcanic National Park! We will meet at Brokeoff Mountain Trailhead parking area at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Everyone is welcome! Bring food, water, and sunscreen. Make sure your auto has sufficient fuel. There is a Park entry fee of $30 per vehicle that can be paid online or at the pay station. This is not a hike. It’s a car tour with stops and strolls through the most accessible meadows on the mountain. We will start with the richest meadows on the south slopes of the mountain.

Getting there: Some folks have backroads routes to the Park, but I suggest you drive south (from Redding) to Highway 36, proceed east to its junction with Highway 89, and travel north on Highway 89 for 7.8 miles to the parking area at the Brokeoff Mountain Trailhead. (Sorry, signage currently missing. This stop comes before the pay station.) We will assemble there and stroll among the flowers. We will make 11 stops in all. You can stay with the group for the day or take off on your own at any time. Looking forward to a glorious outing!

Here is a brief tour guide of what we hope to see at each stop that you can download and print: Mt Lassen Auto Tour July 2022. For further information, please email the Chapter at shastacnps@gmail.com.
