Join Rico Montenegro, Consulting Certified Arborist, Horticulturist, and Licensed Pest Control Advisor, and former Chief Arborist for the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, as he shares his expertise about tree selection for hot, drought-plagued Shasta County and surrounding areas.

Trees are a long-term investment that can be an asset rather than a liability around our homes, parks, streets, and communities as long as several factors are considered when selecting trees. Rico will identify and discuss the factors that should be considered when selecting trees for a given site, and what horticultural factors would be necessary to ensure long-term success as one’s trees mature.

Meet at Turtle Bay’s Arboretum & Botanical Gardens Office, 1135 Arboretum Drive (next to the greenhouse in the nursery), at 10 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, for this 2-hour class. The cost is $6 for Turtle Bay volunteers and members, and $8 for non-members. Contact the Arboretum at gardens@turtlebay.org for further details. ~Shasta Chapter CNPS
