Application forms for the annual $2000 Plant Biology Scholarship offered by the Shasta Chapter of the California Native Plant Society are now available.  This scholarship will be awarded to a student who excels in the natural sciences, and who is planning to pursue a career in Plant Biology.  It is awarded based on achievement, motivation, and potential, as opposed to financial need.

Eligible students must be entering a 4-year college or university program in the 2022/2023 school year with a plant-biology-related major such as botany, plant ecology, plant conservation, or habitat management/restoration.  The deadline for submittal of this application is Friday, May 6, 2022.  The application with instructions is available for download at the top of our new page, Scholarships & Grants.

Over the past 25 years, we have awarded one or more scholarships annually to students throughout Shasta Chapter’s region: Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc, and Lassen counties.  With the ever-increasing costs of college tuition and supplies, we hope that this assistance will help worthy students attain their educational goals.  Please contact me at donaldmburk@gmail.com or 530/347-0849 if you or interested students have questions about our scholarship program.
