The annual $2000 Shasta Chapter of the California Native Plant Society scholarship for 2021 is now available.  This scholarship will be awarded to a student who excels in the natural sciences, and who is planning to pursue a career in a life science profession.  It is awarded based on achievement, motivation, and potential, as opposed to financial need.

Eligible students must be entering a 4-year college or university program in the 2021/2022 school year with a life science related major such as environmental science, biology, or botany.  Plant science and botany majors will be given preference.  The deadline for submittal of this application is Friday, May 7, 2021.  Download the application here: Shasta Chapter CNPS 2021 Scholarship Application.

Over the past 25 years, we have awarded one or more scholarships annually to students throughout Shasta Chapter’s region: Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc, and Lassen counties.  With the ever-increasing costs of college tuition and books, we hope that this assistance will help worthy students attain their educational goals.  Please call me at 530/347-0849 if you or interested students have questions about our scholarship program. -Don Burk
