It has been a fun and productive summer; however, I know many of us are ready to experience cooler weather soon! Those first few rains, and the return of green grass are going to feel fabulous!
With triple digits extending well into September, please remember that some of the more sensitive plant species still need an occasional cool drink of water during these last few heat waves! And then it’s time to start planning fall gardens. It will soon be time to broadcast seeds, prune back plants, and divide perennials—be sure to check out our Fall 2025 Native Plant Sale, to be held early this year, on October 2 to 4. Fall is the best time to plant!
With cooler fall temperatures on the horizon, it’s time for us to resume our monthly chapter meetings starting in September! Keep an eye out for our many other upcoming events including field trips, plant talks, and plant propagation sessions coming up soon! ~Jeremey Kelley, President
