Local kids do good!

Remember Zach Jackson? The kid who went on to study plant ecology, inspired by plant walks led by David Ledger? (See Welcome New Plant Ecologist!) Well, they made the news yet again! Zach, now a botanist in San Diego, and partner Andrew spearheaded a city beautification project to landscape a neighborhood eyesore. Check out the short video and article on Zevely Zone on CBS 8 San Diego, New friendships grow as a Hillcrest eyesore becomes a beautiful garden.

And then there is Bryce Goldstein—daughter of Shasta Chapter CNPS member Shirley Martin—who was elected to Chico’s City Council as one of three Chico Green City Coalition candidates! Please read the short article in Shasta Environmental Alliance’s December 2024 Newsletter. Shasta Chapter CNPS congratulates Bryce for her hard-won victory!
