Butte County Resource Conservation District is hiring a full-time seasonal field botanist for the 2020 season (i.e., late February through June 2020). Come explore recent fire footprints, including the Camp Fire, on both private and public land, and search for rare plants while preparing environmental review for landscape-scale prescribed fire projects. Help restore fire to California while working on a fun, dynamic team of forestry geeks based out of Chico/Oroville, California. Send resumé and cover letter to bcrcd@carcd.org. Please explain why you would be a good fit for this job and let us know whether you would prefer to be considered as a contractor or brought on as an employee. (If you need help deciding, call us!) This has the potential to become a permanent job if you have additional skills such as CAL FIRE archaeology training, grant administration, project management, or general office management—so if you have those skills, please let us know. If you have questions, we strongly encourage you to contact us. Call Wolfy at 530/721-0164. Pay ranges $22 to $32 per hour for employees. If you are a contractor, send us your rates.
