There was still snow on the high mountain peaks of Siskiyou County as of May 30, when we took the short, half-mile walk in to Taylor Lake in the Russian Wilderness of the Klamath Mountains. We found loads of early-blooming wildflowers. The snow had just melted at this high-elevation (~6,500 feet) alpine lake. –Terri & Jay Thesken
