The deadline for students to get their applications for the Shasta Chapter Scholarship is today, May 1, 2020. As of this posting, the Scholarship Committee has received eleven applications, and the day is not yet over. The pandemic does not seem to have adversely affected the application process, as this number is quite comparable to the number of applications we have received in years past.
Now for the difficult part: making the final recommendation to the Board. Always a challenge when so many of the applicants are of such high caliber, all so deserving. But we will persevere and let you know which candidate receives the Board’s final approval, within a couple weeks or so. Stay tuned! -Don Burk, Scholarship Chair
