The Yreka Community Center is a beautiful venue for showcasing Siskiyou County's native wildflowers. The 30th Annual Siskiyou County Mother's Day Wildflower Show was always busy! Photo by Don Burk, taken May 14, 2023.

The show

We are very much looking forward to this year’s Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, as we will be in Yreka at the 31st Annual Siskiyou County Mother’s Day Wildflower Show, distributing information about and encouraging involvement with the California Native Plant Society. This is a glorious wildflower extravaganza; if you haven’t been, you are really missing out! Anyone wishing to help table, please email us at shastacnps@gmail.com We can always use help!

The sale

Besides books and wildflower posters, we will also be selling native plants! While we will have a selection to choose from at our table, we will also serve as the pick-up point for any online orders placed before that day. Our online store has been modified to feature cold-tolerant plants suitable for growing in Siskiyou County. This is an especially great opportunity for our far-northern members, who may not have wanted to drive to Redding for our April plant sale, to buy native plants. Visit the store at: https://cnps-shasta.square.site/

The contest

Don’t forget to vote for your favorite photo in the 13th Annual Wildflower Photo Contest! This year’s photographers have made choosing favorites particularly difficult! Voting ends on May 10, and winners will be announced at the wildflower show.

See you all there! ~Shasta Chapter CNPS
