Thanks so much to our wonderful propagation crew for coming out on January 8 and working on Shasta Chapter CNPS plant propagation! We shifted 400 small plants into larger containers, giving them some breathing room.
In addition, Jeremey Kelley brought in seeds of natives, Len Lindstrand donated hardwood cuttings to be rooted, and John Springer took a day to drive with me to the native plant nursery in Elk Grove.
Mary Ann McCrary, Caitlin French, Ed Thomas, Catherine McNeight, Jana Peters, John Springer, and Chris Gray worked with me four hours, moving the small plants to larger quarters. I could hear the plants heaving a sigh of relief! (As did the volunteers!)
Extra thanks to John Springer, Catherine McNeight, Chris Gray, and Sandra Ellison, who were able to put in impromptu plant propagation hours on Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29. All of you are great!
As always, thanks to Leimone Waite and Shasta College for use of their space, their guidance, and their encouragement. ~Susan Libonati-Barnes
