What’s going on?
Current privacy laws require that our Chapter only send emails to members who have provided CNPS permission to do so. If you are a member, have you granted permission to allow us to send emails to you?
Here’s how to find out: simply answer this yes-or-no question:
Did you receive the most recent monthly mass email from the Shasta Chapter CNPS (sent out on March 3, 2021) alerting the membership as to new posts on our “newsletter” web site at shasta-cnps.org?
If yes: you need read no further! You have given us your permission! Thank you!
If no: then we have not received permission to send emails to you, and we cannot do so until you grant it. Read on to see how you can start receiving emails again:
- Go to the CNPS home page: www.cnps.org and click on “Profile Login” at the very bottom of the page in the gray area, in the right-most column.
- Click on “Sign up for your CNPS profile” (below the “Existing User” field boxes) and enter your name, create a user name and password, and enter your email address.
- Click on “Register.”
- Click on “Manage your email preferences.”
- Under “Email Preferences” check the box in front of “Yes, I would like to receive email from California Native Plant Society.” (You can also choose your preferred format: HTML or Plain Text, or leave it blank).
- Click on “Save.”
And you’re all done!
Please note: it will take a few weeks for the CNPS state office to send us the updated membership list, so you may or may not receive the next mass emailing.
If you have any questions, please contact us at: shastacnps@gmail.com
Remember: receiving occasional emails from the Chapter keeps you updated on spontaneous events and info that may not make it into the newsletter, such as:
- Field trips
- Propagation sessions
- Chapter meetings
- Plant sales (such as the one coming up this spring)
- Plant sale members-only discount codes
- Other special events (such as the recent, well attended Bryophyte workshop)
Thank you!

Shasta Chapter CNPS Membership Chair
