Here’s an exciting three-event combo you won’t want to miss!
On Thursday and Friday, February 20 and 21, the Shasta Chapter will proudly host bryophyte expert Scot Loring, appropriately of the Bryophyte Chapter CNPS. Scot will give us an in-depth look at some of the smallest members of the botanical world: mosses, liverworts, and hornworts.
- On Thursday, February 20, Scot will lead an afternoon field trip to see these diminutive plants in their native habitat.
- Later on Thursday, February 20, Scot will give a presentation at our Chapter meeting on the informal grouping of the non-vascular plant phyla called Bryophyta.
- Next morning, Friday, February 21, Scot will conduct a hands-on workshop to investigate the characteristics and structures of bryophytes.
All of these events are free and open to the public! Check out our calendar for details!
